Non-standard ESP configuration

Dual production (single tubing separate production) technology allows to develop two oil formations with different reservoir properties, improve oil well productivity and cost effect since we can use one well without additional drilling.

CHALLENGE

Install Dual production system and provide

  • Reliable separation of two oil formations
  • Target bottom hole pressures for each formation
  • Temperature, pressure, production rate and water cut control of lower formation
  • Safely lift the equipment up without packer

SOLUTION 

Use ESP to develop non-standard scheme for dual production. Design and produce special equipment: motors with two output shafts (top and bottom), two protectors, upper and lower ESPs, select packers and other accessory equipment for proper operation. We designed and installed two systems for Dual production with the following parameters:

RESULT

At the control moment system run life exceeded 200 days, according to telemetry data - the oil was produced from both formations. Oil well production was increased by 16.2 and 12.3 tonnes per day on each well.
